Biography
It started with a dream…
Like many others Chris Tiamzon studied hard, trained hard and got his hands dirty learning everything he could during his motorcycle apprenticeship. Although this required countless late nights and hard work, motorcycles have always been Chris’s passion – so in many respects his hobby was his job. Nirvana?
In 2011 Chris moved to Kuwait and worked as a top motorcycle mechanic and fully trained Harley Davidson technician for ‘Bikes & More’ a large and respected motorcycle service and custom business in the Middle East. During this time Chris was able to work on many high-end motorcycles and gained even more knowledge and expertise. His dream was to ‘one day‘ work for himself and own his own motorcycle shop.
By 2014 Chris was determined to return to the Philippines and make his dream come true. Although desperate to retain Chris, his employer in Kuwait understood Chris had the skills and talent to be his own boss and reassuringly told him ‘there’s always a job for you here if things don’t work out‘. Not many employers would be so courteous, but when someone is just that good it would have been selfish to hold him back.
Leap of Faith
In 2014 Chris Tiamzon returned to the Philippines to fulfil his dream of starting his own motorcycle service centre business.
Success breeds success
As Chris’s reputation as a knowledgeable, sincere and trustworthy motorcycle technician grew; surprise, surprise – so did his business! Named Biketech.101 and based in Mabalacat to this day, he has continued to remain humble and customer-centric.
As the business (and Chris’s reputation) continued to grow, after a couple of years Biketech.101 moved into larger premises a few doors down the road. It was important to stay close by and in a location that is easy to access and secure.
Chris has forged many friendships through his business and is an active member of the big bike community in Pampanga, Luzon, Philippines. The business has been built on quality workmanship, fair pricing and safety.
Chris always dreamt of taking Biketech.101 to ‘the next level‘. The business needed more space not only to provide his customers with a wider range of services, but also so he too could provide job and training opportunities to a handful of loyal and passionate young people looking for a career and secure future.
The stars aligned in 2020 when a close friend of many years (and loyal Biketech.101 customer) was in a position to help. A shared passion for providing the very best motorcycle services to big bike enthusiasts in Pampanga (and further afield) is the key motivation behind what makes the business successful.
Both Filipinos and expat foreigners passionate about their motorcycles deserve access to quality workmanship, knowledgeable technicians and state-of-the-art equipment. Whether you are a rider looking to score the best lap times on the track, an enthusiast seeking to keep your beloved motorcycle in tip-top condition or prepping for a Grand Tour of the Philippines, finally you have access to a local motorcycle business large enough to handle the demands of modern motorcycles yet small enough to still care passionately about their customers and friendships.
