Woolich Racing

Introduction

Woolich Racing’s ECU Flashing Products have been developed by Justin Woolich and the Team at Woolich Racing to meet the needs of Road, Circuit Racing, Land Speed Racing and Drag Racing Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha Motorcycles. They are an Australian company and their products are used by an increasing number of tuning shops (e.g. BikeTech Performance) dealers, racers and individual tuners internationally.

Disclaimer: We are NOT part of the Woolich Racing company – We believe in their products and only supply & fit genuine Woolich Racing products to our customers. Our Woolich products are sourced direct from Woolich authorised distributors.

What is ECU Reflashing all about?

Woolich Racing continues to develop and release a wide range of products and software for tuning motorcycles at an affordable price. Their products are suitable for everyone from the road rider through to the professional tuning shop and race teams.

The Woolich ECU Flashing Products allow you to tune the various maps and settings available in the stock ECU found in fuel injected bikes. You no longer have to send your ECU away to get the full benefits of ECU flashing. Once flashed there are no additional modules required on the bike, allowing you to reliably and cost effectively tune your motorcycle.

Woolich Racing products are used across many forms of motorsport including Pro Drag Racing champions (Ryan Schnitz and Derek Christensen), domestic Superbike and Supersport race teams, land-speed racing bikes (including Australia’s FIM record holding Greg Watters and multiple record holder, Mark Dotson and the A All Animal Control team), and countless independent tuning shops (including BikeTech Performance) and enthusiasts working with their products to extract the maximum performance from their bikes.

Woolich Racing has distributors in various countries around the world and their products are available direct in the Philippines right here at BikeTech Performance.

Quick Recap

ECU (Engine Control Unit)

The ECU (Engine Control Unit) controls the amount of fuel and ignition advance and other parameters an internal combustion engine needs to run under the current conditions. The ECU does this by monitoring inputs including throttle position, rpm, gear position, air temperature and coolant temperature.

Stock ECU’s generally are far from optimal and are developed to allow for a wide range of riding styles, fuel quality and operational conditions. The result of this is often a compromise resulting in suboptimal performance. Significant improvements can be achieved through correcting the stock ECU’s deficiencies and tuning the engine to take full advantage of its potential.

ECU Flashing

ECU Flashing is the process of updating the sofware that runs on your bikes ECU. This allows you to change various maps and settings in your ECU and significantly improve the performance of your engine. The Woolich Racing Tuned software works with our products and allows you to make changes and flash the new software to your bike’s ECU.

Woolich Racing Tuned Software

The FREE Woolich Racing Tuned software allows you to make changes to the Fuel Maps, Ignition Maps, RPM Limiters, Secondary Throttle Plate Maps as well as many other maps and settings in your Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycle. The software works with one of our USB Interfaces, Woolich Racing Log Box or Woolich Racing Log Box Pro, and allows you to flash the changes to the ECU of your motorcycle.

Some features of the software include:

  • Fuel Map Editing
  • Ignition Map Editing
  • Modify RPM Limiters
  • Secondary Throttle Plate (STP) Map Editing
  • RAM Air Compensation Map Editing
  • Woolich Racing AutoTune
  • Realtime Engine Data
  • Various other features depending on bike model.

Note: Available features varies by model.

Professional Tuning for all

The ability to adjust both fuel and ignition tables within the factory ECU allows us to give our customers a better end product. Many piggy-back style systems have very limited adjustability and require multiple boxes to make the adjustments we require for modified engines.

The Woolich Racing Software is easy to navigate and offers 3D timing and fuel table that allows us to easily see the changes being made and accurately modify all areas of the table without having to hit every cell on the dyno. Advanced features such as coolant fan temperature on/off, adjustable rev limiters, injector balance tables and secondary throttle blade control give us (and you!) a further advantage on the street and on the track.

Woolich Racing Log Boxes

The beauty of the Log Box is that you can make trim adjustments while racing at the strip for changing environmental conditions. Doing so does not require access to a dyno. You can do all your track-side tuning with Woolich Racing interface and Log Box at the strip. One of the biggest benefits is that you can also tune your bike for index racing. Not fast enough to be in the 8.90 index but faster than the 9.50 index, so you can slow the bike down though flashing other bin files stored created using the Log Box.

Even if you’re not addicted to tuning up and down, you will still be able to use default settings, data log with the Log Box and then flash the auto tune settings and you will be good to go. Especially if you have done small mods like a simple air filter or airbox, now you can simply correct the ECU settings with a little data logging and auto tune.
